More fish pics

Just some closeups of my new fishies..

Some Fish Tales

Now that I can sit for more than a few minutes at the computer, I hope to catch up on posting AND reading blogs...I have missed it more than you will ever know.

We have a Challenge/Swap ongoing at Beaddreamz- beaded fish! It has caught on like nothing else and folks are making lots of fish in all different sorts of shapes and sizes.

Here are my two offerings, so far! The BFAC took all my beady and sitting effort, but it is done and now I get to play!

I see many, many more of these fish. They do take longer to make the embellished ones, but those hold their shape so much better than the peyote-only fish bodies.

Maybe I won't even have to get the tree decorations out, and as the tree is pre-lit, can just hang all my fishies and some beaded dolls on it this year.

Being a grown-up is SO much fun!

Happy Creating! Click on the pic to see it full size..

Round Robin doll going home!!

The Jungle Dolls Round Robin @ Beaddreamz yahoogroup is coming to a close this Dec 15, and I worked hard getting Jo Adam's doll finished and ready to go home early! There are many gifts I have still in my head that need to come out and get into my hands, so they can wend their way to friends and family, so Orchis, the beads, Diane Fitzgerald's The Beaded Garden and I sat down for a two day marathon, in between cooking for eight! LOL!
I hope you like the results!
Beaders included; Dian, Gail, Jo, Sherry, Ruth and myself.
I can't wait for mine to come home- she is going onto the tree..
Come join the next Round Robin at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/beaddreamz/ and have some beady fun!
And, as always, click on either photo to make it full-size.

MerQueen's Hand

She loves all things from the Seas, collecting the bits and baubles she finds in her travels, and adding them to her bejeweled self...

Spring Waves Necklace

From the Ocean Waves pattern, which is a RAW modified with an extra bead.
Cannot remember for the life of me who created this originally, but thanks to her
I have this lovely necklace, which drapes nicely. I added a self-toggle clasp,
because I don't like metal clasps on seed bead pieces. It was created for the
March Challenge at Beaddreamz yahoogroup.

Herringbone Challenge at Beaddreamz Group

Flat view

top loop end

top clasp end

bottom loop end-peyote loop

bottom clasp- brickstitch

button sideways through loop

almost there, 5o beads go under button

button fully in loop underside

no unsightly loop gaps
Our newest challenge-to-be will be herringbone,
something I can do in the wavy style, but still have
tension issues with the flat or circular styles. I wanted
a place to show how to add a clasp to the wavy
herringbone bracelet, as I hate having the skin show
between regular loops and button clasps, and are not
happy adding metal clasps to offloom beadwork.
I hope these make sense and are helpful to you.

3 More Cabochons

These are the three cabochons that were sent to be swapped, for the Beaddreamz group.
Lucky me will get three cabs done by other beaders in our group in return! Click on any pic
