A few of my favorite things

Raindrops on tree limbs and standard size poodles
Cat hairs in coffee with warm snickerdoodles
2AB bicones all lined up on strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Bright fuzzy mohair and crazy eyelash yarns
Crochet hooks, long books and old antique sale barns
Holiday songbooks, the favorites we sing
These are a few of my favorite things

When the wind blows, when the clouds scud, when I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things and then I don't feel so bad

Phone calls from close friends and photos from others
Packets from OZ and emails from my brothers
Sister who calls me a delightful ding
These are a few of my favorite things

Hugs from my Pooh Bear and kisses from Tippy
Headbonks from Puffin and Love Rubs from Callie
Hellos from Al Bird who thinks he can sing
These are a few of my favorite things

When a pet dies, when my job goes, when I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things and then I don't feel so bad

Long texts from Wabbit and phone calls from Puddy
Hikes to the ridges that get my boots muddy
Views from our front deck from Winter to Spring
These are a few of my favorite things.

Hot Jazz and Bluegrass and Indie and Old Rock
French Horn, Romantic Classical and Baroque
long music interludes by Dennis Brain
These are a few of my favorite things

When the tooth aches, when the knee hurts, when I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things and then I don't feel so bad

SUGMAD MAHANTA the ECK and all the Whole
Travels in Inner Planes, knowing I'm Soul
Spiritual Exercises give me Wings
These are a few of my favorite things.......

When the flesh fails, and the mind goes, and I'm feeling lost
I simply remember those last fav'rite things, and then I feel home at last!

With creative nod to Julie Andrews....thanks for all your singing. I miss it.

More Holiday Cheer

We began this pattern at the November Bead Retreat, and while I had finished one leaf there for earrings, was stumped as to what to do about the necklace. The original pattern called for much more space between the leaves, and only 5-9 leaves total- not near enough bling or interest for me! AND the leaves were all one color...I wanted a holiday look that could be worn to the concerts at the new CHS Theatre and at WCU for the NC Symphony Concert December 11. I am happy with all but the clasp, and will be redoing that portion into a beaded circle and toggle, with drops of Swarovski 3 and 4mm bicones. Now to find the perfect outfit to match LOL!

A bit of Holiday Cheer

Inspired by an online pattern from Bead & Button Magazine, that cost more than I was willing to spend! Mine uses 8o Matsuno beads for the triangles, has rivolis added on top, and is open at the base, so it can be used on another glass ball, if the first breaks. Click on any pic to open.

2nd book coming soon....

The second book in Kurt's series of 5 is about to be published this Spring, and we found the last of the Fall leaves to get a photograph for the back cover...

MerQueen's Hand

She loves all things from the Seas, collecting the bits and baubles she finds in her travels, and adding them to her bejeweled self...

10"H X 6"W X 1.5" D, not including fringe.

Happy Retreat times

We finished a beading retreat just outside Robbinsville, NC
and for once, I have completed projects to show for it!
Now only the Russian Leaf necklace and earrings, and my
Turkish Round Chainmaille are left to do, but they might
have to wait until the week long UFO Retreat in May! LOL!

Petroglyph Frog

He wanted to be symbolic of all frogs have been to mankind,
both icon and warning, with his symbols and colors.
He hopes mankind will not totally destroy the environment
for amphibians, and ultimately, mammals, in their greed
and shortsightedness.
