It is a cuff challenge, and there is alot of leeway in the definition of 'cuff'. We have peyote beaded bands, thin and thick metal blanks that are covered with pellon, leather, or ultrasuede then beaded, wavy bands, and now....my secret band.
See if you can figure out what will be happening, by looking at the picture. Double click, as always, to see it larger.
I didn't want to spend the money on a wavy brass cuff blank, then not like how it fits. For a 6' + woman, I have thin wrists that are flat on top, and most cuffs hurt when I wear them. I wanted something that not only looked great, but felt great to wear.
This is what I have, so far.
It is a blessing to be able to find some way of using all the semi-precious stones and gems I have collected ( and will continue to collect! I am a Dragon, after all!).
No fair giving it away, if you are a Beaddreamz member!

...wow!That's gonna be a great cuff!I'm a member but hadn't checked in to see what y'all were up to at Beadreamz recently!Love it!
Having the ability to see the photo full-screen certainly gives a much clearer idea of how it will look, when finished. I adore that little lizard/salamander - he's a real poppet. You've chosen some beautiful beads and it is going to look stunning.
Phyl! don't forget to check on us, and tell us what you have been up to, as well! Thanks for the vote of confidence- I am still not happy with the green beads over the aventurine!
Chrstina, I do love how you can see the pics full size on the blogs! thanks for the kind comments..and keep going on yours. Post a pic-eh?
Gypsy - That is gorgeous! My daughter is just starting to work with beads. I can't wait to show it to her. Please let us see it again when you're done.
I sure will, Victoria! And I love your blog- saw it listed on bloomingwriter's. Sigh, I need horses again in my Life...do encourage your daughter to join beaddreamz- it is a wonderful group and a good way to learn beading. beaddreamz@yahoogroups.com
Thanks, Gypsy - You live in an area that's very "horsey" - Have you heard of a place called Hope for Horses in Leicester,NC? (hopeforhorses.org) It looks interesting. Also, have you read Linda Kohanov's "Tao of Equus"? It's a great book. I love the changes you made on the cuff.
I have Victoria, and want to go visit them someday.. it is an area with alot of nice rolling hills- perfect for horses!
I will check the book, when next I get to the big city of Asheville, and get my Barnes and Nobles fix..
Another update on cuff due tomorrow-am adding what seems like thousands, but is probably only hundreds of tiny beaded leaves for the 'filler'.Thanks for looking again.
